Who What Wear
Madame Noire
Bundled beauty. While roaming around in the cold of New York City there is no reason for you to look like the crazy bag lady with all the layers and ill-fitting clothing. Take a cue from this girl here and layer strategically. A thick scarf can do wonders in terms of looks and keeping warm. And just in case it gets too hot, you can unzip that cute jacket and wear it open.
As for the bag, the graffiti print is so unique. A nice pop of color don’t ya think?

It’s not most of the time where I focus on the lipstick more than the actual ‘fit but I’m gonna have to make an exception here. This is the perfect shade. Loves it. Also, those boots, originally her mom’s but who’s asking. I love them too.

…. Don’t know what else to say. I’m kinda speechless right now. It’s the perfect wedge. The perfect shoe. The perfect accessory. What can’t this shoe do?!

The jeans! The jeans! The jeans! I love the jeans! If skinny jeans and bell bottoms had a baby it would result to this. Perfectly paired with a pair of stilleto pumps, this look doesn’t make her legs look frumpy or too short. Also, can we just look at this thick and lovely scarf? Purchased at H&M, it’s the perfect way to stay toasty during these cold times.

Raise your hand if you still think brown and black can’t peacefully coexist? If you raised it, I’m going to give you a number of an eye doctor, he owes me one.
After looking at this ‘fit, it’s clear to see that the black and brown rule has now been nullified.

The cutest rugged man my eyes have ever seen. Every girl wants a good guy but secretly feigns for the bad ones. Men, why not be both? Leather jackets and button-down shirts usually do the trick. Oh yeah, don’t forget the smile like this guy.

Ooh, look at this girl work it! I would be poppin’ poses if I dressed this well too. From the camel coat to the black booties, all I have to say is va va va voom. What I love about this girl is that she knows how to rock a pair of booties. If you have long legs go ahead and buy out every booty this side of New York.
However, if you do have shorter legs, don’t jump on this trend just yet. There ain’t no shame in having shorter gams, you just gotta know how to work it. Opt for a heel that shows a little more of your foot like a the classic pump. With that it doesn’t “cut you off” and make you appear a lot shorter than you are.

This man in summertime wintertime fine. Grey is a color you can never go wrong with. Warmer than your average black default item but still dark enough that it pairs well with 99. 9 percent of your closet.

A bag even mother could love. Remember when you were little and your mom always had a bag big enough to sneak a whole thanksgiving meal for you and your siblings into the theater? Well now we’re grown up the mom bag has been revolutionized. I call this the mom bag because it looks big enough to carry everything you need -and more. However, we are no longer subjected to boring mom bags of old. Yes, we can still fit 3 buckets of homemade popcorn into this baby but we can do it while still lookin’ good.
Ok, so maybe you never plan on stuffing food into this but for whatever the reason you do purchase a relatively bigger bag, it does not have to be hideous. Do something chic like this studded number.

The color palette of this ‘fit is just so rich. She’s got the coffee-brown boots, dark-wash (if you haven’t noticed, I have an affinity for jeans with a darker dye), a light navy-colored scarf, and and ash gray top. For the longest time it seemed as though the only way to go was monochrome or maybe dual-tone ensembles… my, how times have changed.
Side note: Don’t underestimate the power of a simple ruche (see sleeves). Ruching brings out the best in any ‘fit by making it look more polished and put together.

Spotted, a pair of cute knee-high boots traveling through Penn. Station. Don’t get caught wearing the predictable and boring sweatsuit while walking through the terminal to your next destination. There are many ways to be comfortable and cute simultaneously.
P.S. Take note, when you do don a pair of boots, couple them with straight-leg or skinny jeans so your pants don’t form that baggy look at the top of your boots. No one likes muffin tops around the waist so why should it be around your legs too?

Ok, I might have to eat my words on this one. I may have implied in an earlier post that one should veer away from all black buuuut, who really sticks to the rules anyway? There is just so much going on here and that’s what makes this ‘fit so much fun. There’s the texture of the fur (hopefully faux) jacket, the sheer tights, a felt floppy hat, and those butter soft booties. It’s one thing to look good but to literally feel it too?!

What the cuff? Deciding to go with a lighter wash jean, this guy also rolled his cuffs up to give a little more attention to his black high-tops. Extra points for the shades, bracelets, and spiral gauge. They make a nice combination of accessories.
