Who What Wear
Madame Noire
FNO Models: Showing off is not a humble trait. However, I’ll make an exception in the case of showing off your belt on the outside of your ‘fit like seen here. The days of wearing your belt solely on your trousers are over.
And who said you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks?
Top: Striped shirt and blazer from Brooks Brothers and dark wash jeans is from Levi’s
Bottom: Grey sheat pleated dress and caramel cardi are both from Pendleton.

Posts like this one are not common. I am not here to be a fashion haul and show off my closet, I just wanted to show you how to be simultaneously fashionable and frugal.
This past year I have found a new love, second-hand shops and thrift stores. Like any other first-hand store, they can be a hit or miss but the search is worth it.
Here’s a few things I purchased:
ONE

This vibrant top was less than 10 bills. I love it because I wear black… a lot. The other day I paired it with a black fitted blazer and black skinnies. Oh yeah, don’t forget the black flats. This one piece balanced out and brightened my all black attire.
However, on the days where black is not a factor I paired it with a simple pair of jean shorts and just for a little bling, diamond stud earrings.

I also love little details like this. Even though this pocket cannot hold much, it makes for a cute addition to this top.
TWO
Nicole Richie has been such an inspiration to me. Her easy-going ‘fits are casual but so put together. When I saw this top I just had to have it. Again, thanks to my local thrift stores I got this blouse for less than 10. I then put this light vest over it to give it a 70s boho look.
THREE
Another steal. Yes, I got this too for less than 10. I cannot stop raving about how a great blazer will compliment any outfit, anywhere, at any time of day… don’t believe me? Try it for yourself.
FOUR
Another sweet deal at what most would consider a steal. Not only is the eternity scarf a hot newcomer on the fahion scene but it comes in multiple designs, materials, and lengths.

It’s not just about the regular flats anymore, oxfords are making a statement on many feet nowadays.

I would not have thought to pair that color or pattern of sandals with this loose striped tee but I’m glad she did. Don’t cancel out anything until you’ve tried it on. The image in your head or on the mannequin is very different from that on your actual body.

Looking to add a little sparkle to your look but don’t know where to start? How about from the bottom up? Try a rhinestoned shoe but don’t go over board, you don’t want to look like you stepped in glitter.

See how a fun and flirty leapord print - cardigan - can change up any outfit? Also, a simple V can be thrown on any time of day and still look fresh.

Besides the preservatives in fast food fries, jeans are the only thing that will last throughout the ages. Wear them with any top, add any shoe and play them up with embellished pockets. (And for those who are looking for a little umph in the trunk, try jeans with buttoned pocket flaps)

Show a little diversity. Layer multi-material bracelets and blangles to polish off the perfect outfit.

The bold and the beautiful. Big statement earrings are becoming a staple in every woman’s accessory box.

If you don’t like bunching your scarf or just looking for another way to wear it, wear it the long way. Not only will it elongate the body but it covers up the the problem stomach areas.

Add a long necklace to a plain or printed scarf (This can go for men who wear scarfs too).

Colder weather coming and your wardrobe is still stuck in summer? Throw on a cardi and call it a day.
Plus, I love how even though the sweater is long it does not overtake her body or detract from the rest of the ‘fit.

They say you can’t wear white pants after Labor Day, well how about pastel skinnies instead?

Yes! I am loving the floral-print headband. One week it’s a head band, another week, tie it around your bag handle and add a pop of color. Plus, can we just look at how it balances out the little bit more masculine (not a bad thing) sgt. pepper-type jacket? It’s all about balance here people.
